Kat Hensley
Paralegal
Kat Hensley brings extensive military experience to McCormack & McCormack following a distinguished U.S. Navy career. During her service, she worked in career management, security management, administration, and a wide range of military matters involving the Navy and other branches of service.
Kat assists the firm's attorneys and clients with courts-martial, state and federal criminal cases, administrative separation actions, and personal injury cases, providing valuable firsthand knowledge of military procedures and issues.
Courtney Walters
Paralegal
Courtney Walters has been with McCormack & McCormack since 1998 and brings decades of experience supporting the firm's legal team. Before joining the firm full time, she spent eight years as a Master Firefighter and Paramedic with the City of Virginia Beach Fire Department.
Courtney works extensively with the firm on civilian criminal matters in Virginia state and federal courts. Her legal experience and background in emergency services provide valuable perspective when assisting attorneys and clients.
Yasya Schleifer
Legal Assistant
Yasya Schleifer holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University, where she developed a strong understanding of legal systems, procedures, and the foundations of law. Her academic training provided her with knowledge of criminal law, court processes, and legal research, along with the analytical and organizational skills essential in a legal environment. In her role as a Legal Administrative Assistant, she applies her educational background to support attorneys and staff with accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Namibia Nguyen
Paralegal
Namibia is a U.S. Navy veteran with 11 years of service, having served in a variety of legal and administrative roles, including Legal and Administrative Supervisor, Senior Paralegal, and Trial Paralegal. During her military career, she provided comprehensive support for courts-martial, non-judicial punishments, military investigations, and administrative actions. She is the recipient of the Navy Commendation Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, and has earned numerous other awards for her service and leadership.
Namibia holds a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Roger Williams University and an Associate of Arts in General Studies from the University of Maryland Global Campus. As a veteran, she brings extensive legal knowledge and firsthand military experience to our firm, supporting attorneys and clients in courts-martial and military administrative matters.
